		An environmentally friendly fuel!
		Methanol is a safe, easy and economical liquid to handle. It is also water soluble and biodegradable. Its extraordinarily high energy density allows SFC fuel cells to operate a very long time at minimal weight and volume. The approved fuel cartridges may be transported and stored anywhere so there are no unpleasant odors. The main fuel cells in this category are the hydrogen and the direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC). In contrast to hydrogen, which needs to be stored at high pressure in bulky metal cartridges, methanol comes in easy-to-use, rugged safety containers. SFC fuel cartridges are available anywhere in the world and may be sent via air-freight, something that is currently unthinkable for fuels such as hydrogen.
		For mobile applications, so called "Low Temperature Fuel Cells" are the most suitable fuel cells, since their operating temperature is rather low. The fuel cartridges can be changed in seconds, even during operation (hot-swap). Therefore recharging time, such as with batteries, is completely eliminated, and uninterrupted operation is now possible. The SFC fuel cartridges are equipped with a safety valve which prevents the spillage of methanol, thereby protecting the user from contact with methanol. All SFC fuel cartridges are certified by the TUEV (leading German authority) as “verified safety” for consumer use. All these properties combine to make methanol the ideal fuel!
